Emergency Visa Services

Effective from January 1, 2010, emergency visa service will only be available on Saturdays and other holidays (check Consulate holiday list) to persons of Indian origin living in the jurisdiction covered by the Consulate General of India, New York, in case of genuine emergency like death or critical illness of a blood relation, subject to production of proof and confirmed air ticket. This service will be available between 11am and 1pm at the Consulate counter. Emergency service will not be available to applicants falling under reference categories. An amount of US$35 is charged, over and above the normal visa fees, for providing emergency service. No other consular service will be  available on Saturdays and other Holidays.

There will be no emergency visa service on Sundays and national holidays viz. January 26, August 15 and October 2.
